Milwaukee's PointOne appoints new president and CEO

Bond In Investing Savings By WTN News • 08/16/04 MILWAUKEE -- PointOne Systems, a company specializing in patient-specific molecular data and personalized medicine, has chosen Frank Langely as its president and chief executive officer, it announced Friday.

Langely most recently served as president and CEO of Pel-Freez Clinical Systems, located in Brown Deer. The company develops molecular biology and serologic products for solid organ and bone marrow transplants and experienced significant growth and eventual acquisition under Langely's leadership.

Langely currently serves on the boards of the Medical College of Wisconsin Research Foundation as well as the Wisconsin Biotechnology and Medical Device Association. He was also a former president of the Biotech Association.

Frank is a timely addition to PointOne. His experience and knowledge of the biotech and health care sectors will accelerate the commercialization of our molecular medicine software platforms and services for the health care industry, Peter J. Tonellato, founder and chairman of PointOne.

Langley succeeds Dr. Drew Palin, who led PointOne for its first three years, managing the development of PointOne's Genomic Clinical System platform for use by hospitals in providing molecular medicine at the point of care.

The company will continue to build upon its collaboration with Aurora Health Care to develop its next generation of molecular medicine products. One facet of this relationship focuses on the personalized medical care model that two million Aurora patients have utilized. Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider.
