Bond In Investing Savings The company that owns Biosphere 2, the giant terrarium in the Arizona desert, has sued Columbia University, which is under contract to manage the Biosphere until 2010 but said recently that it would sharply reduce its financial support for the project.
Whether this will come directly or whether there will be an earlier pullback is just a little unclear.

The corporation filed the suit, which seeks unspecified monetary damages, on Friday in Superior Court in Pinal County, Ariz.

Bond Terms Trading A spokeswoman for Columbia, Mariellen Gallagher, said, "We're aware that there is litigation against Biosphere 2 Center in Arizona, but Columbia University has not been served."
Bond Debt High In Inside A spokesman for Columbia's Biosphere 2 Center Inc., Roy Brunett, issued a statement saying it was "disappointed by the filing of a lawsuit." The statement said that the company "has honored and will continue to honor all of its contractual obligations relating to the Biosphere 2 facility."

It froze hiring plans for new faculty members and announced that it would move the master's program back to New York. A spokesman for Mr. Bass said the university had informed him that no more money would be allocated after June.
