James Bond Trading Card Christopher D. Bowers is senior vice president-North America for United Airlines. He is based at the company's world headquarters in suburban Chicago. Named to the position in September 1998, Bowers has profit responsibility for all North American markets and, in that capacity, is responsible for operations, customer service and all-revenue generation activities in the North American markets including sales, reservations and city ticket offices. Prior to assuming his current position, Bowers served as senior vice president-International since April 1995, where he performed similar duties. He was responsible for customer service operations and revenue-generation activities in United's international markets -- the Atlantic, the Pacific and Latin America. Bowers joined United Airlines in 1973 as a supervisor of air freight at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. He has numerous marketing and sales positions since then, including district sales manager in Detroit, market manager for United's hub in Chicago, vice president-Market Management and vice president-General Sales Manager. A native of Chicago, Bowers holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. He served in the United States Army from July 1969, to May 1972, attaining the rank of captain. Bowers serves as National Chairman of the Travel Industry Association of America. He is a member of the Board of Directors of National Tourism Organization and of the Executive Committee for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, and he is a trustee of the Field Museum of Chicago.
