The US bond market this morning is sending interesting signals to the world markets as the Fed's rate decision nears. Looking at September's bond futures contracts, we can see that their are expectation to cut interest rates by the Federal Reserve. However, currently the forex market is beginning to factor in a hike in December which might explain the recent strength of the US Dollar. Moreover, many investors expect the Fed to reiterate its concern about rising U.S. inflationary pressures and have bought dollars fairly aggressively in the past few weeks.

Municipal Bonds Investment Heating Oil rose 4 cents to close at $1.71 in New York. Natural gas climbed 44 cents to close at $11.70 per million British thermal unit and regular gasoline closed up 6 cents at $1.62.

The European Central Bank is going to hike rates at least two more times this year and U.S. bond yields are falling, giving no incentive for large global investors to hold dollars so there is nothing to hold back the EUR bullish rampage. Today is relatively light on news so the EUR will range trade for extended periods at its current record levels and it should continue on a steady rise from now on instead of the sharp increases that we saw yesterday.

Bond Terms Trading Gold remained a bullish play on the market Wednesday, closing up $6.20 at $516.30 per ounce. Silver followed, rising 12 cents to close at $8.94 an ounce.

Bond Debt High In Inside Live cattle jumped 0.78 cents to 96.55 as hope waxed eternal that the Japanese market would begin consuming US beef after the year-long trade gap with Japan. Feeder cattle climbed 0.55 cents to 114.25.

Bond Greenville Greenville Corn closed up 0.75 cents at 216.25 cents per bushel whilesoybeans fell 1.50 cents to close at 622.25 cents per bushel.

Trading Stock And Bonds The DJIA closed at 10,796.26, up 18.49 points, or 0.17 percent. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 1.63, or 0.13 percent, to 1,258.17 and the NASDAQ composite index rose 2.05, or 0.09 percent, to 2,228.94.

Bond Investing Municipal Bonds fell, with the yield on the 10-year Treasury note rising to 4.37 percent from 4.34 percent late Tuesday.

Basis Bond Finance Hill The U.S. dollar also gained against other major currencies.
