Named to his position in July 1999, he is responsible for treasury, tax, financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, purchasing and pension investments. He is also responsible for all of the airline s accounting and external financial reporting activities. Brace joined United in May 1988 as managerOperating Budgets. He also served as director Financial Planning, vice presidentCorporate Development, vice president and controller and vice president Finance before assuming his current position. Prior to joining United, Brace served in a variety of financial management positions with American Airlines in Dallas, Texas. He holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and a bachelor s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Brace currently serves on the board of Galileo International and is a trustee for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
